About Team21

Team21 Training & Recovery was founded by Evelyn Tandy, a board-certified Athletic Trainer and former collegiate soccer player who has seen firsthand what proper recovery can do for peak performance.

The name honors her friend and college teammate JoBeth, who wore number 21 and was killed in an auto accident in November 2023. JoBeth was the glue that held their team together — and that spirit is at the heart of this practice. In 2024, Evelyn, JoBeth, and their Women's Soccer teammates were inducted into the Earlham College Athletics Hall of Fame for their back-to-back-to-back Conference Champion efforts.

Evelyn holds a Corrective Exercise Specialist certification from NASM, is Graston Technique M-1 trained, and has completed 60+ hours of dry needling instruction through Structure and Function Education. She earned her Master's in Athletic Training from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor's in Biochemistry from Earlham College, and was named the 2025 Secondary School Kentucky Athletic Trainer of the Year.

What is an Athletic Trainer?

An athletic trainer is a certified and licensed health care professional who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating muscle and bone injuries and illnesses. They work with individuals of all ages and skill levels, often in sports settings, to ensure optimal performance and recovery. Athletic trainers are skilled in developing rehabilitation programs and providing first aid and emergency care. They often collaborate with physicians, coaches, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for athletes.
